About

The Southern Songstress: A Journey of Faith, Music, and Inspiration

Born and bred in the heartland of Southern music, Melissa Stamper's life is a symphony of faith and melody. Her musical odyssey began with a soul-stirring rendition of "Old Rugged Cross" at the tender age of four, laying the foundation for a lifelong journey intertwined with the power of song. Yet, it was a transformative encounter with the divine at fifteen that truly illuminated the depth and meaning behind the music she held dear.

Throughout her career, Melissa's voice has echoed through countless studio sessions, from recording demos for local songwriters to crafting jingles for advertisers in Louisiana. She has served on praise and worship teams and as a praise and worship leader, using her musical gifts to uplift and inspire others in their faith journey.  At the age of eighteen, she boldly stepped into the role of producer and host of her own television program, "Lookin' Up," dedicated to shining a spotlight on local Christian talent. This formative experience not only showcased her passion for music but also ignited a deeper calling within her soul.

In 2002, Melissa embarked on a groundbreaking endeavor by pioneering the Miss Plus America Pageant—a platform dedicated to celebrating the beauty and talents of plus-size women. Motivated by her own experiences of size-related mistreatment, Melissa envisioned a pageant that not only provided a safe space for self-expression but also served as a vehicle for charitable endeavors. The Miss Plus America pageant has since become a beacon of empowerment and compassion, championing the cause of self-acceptance and philanthropy on a global scale.

A True Trailblazer

Melissa's impact extends far beyond the realm of music and pageantry. As a dedicated member of Judah 1, Inc., an aviation ministry, she plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence. With her extensive background in project management, quality assurance, and implementations, Melissa's contributions to Judah 1 are invaluable, ensuring that missionaries are equipped to fulfill their divine calling with efficiency and grace.

Emerging on the Film Scene

Melissa's creative endeavors know no bounds, as evidenced by her foray into the world of film. Together with her esteemed collaborator Marc McCan, she penned "Pardoned by Grace," a faith-infused cinematic journey based on a remarkable true story. This stirring film, recognized with the prestigious Red Letter Award in 2022, is available for streaming on Amazon. It stands as a testament to Melissa's boundless passion for weaving tales that resonate deeply with audiences worldwide.

"I was absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to listen to "God Saved the Queen".  Melissa is truly gifted and anointed to sing praises to God.  Her content is exceptional and reflects the essence of scripture.  I've often felt that her voice transcends earthly realms, akin to an angelic sound.  However, it's more than just a voice for singing; it's a powerful weapon.  A weapon of righteousness that demolishes the forces of darkness.  You definitely don't want to miss hearing this song.  It's not only a source of blessing but also a profound inspiration."
